THE FEAR OF WHAT´S DIFFERENT

Today I remember to look for a place to fix my apple because something like a month ago I started some video blogs on youtube, but because of my computer malfunction I wasn’t able to do the editing I was in mind to, so I gave up the idea for while but that brought me to this article which is the same subject of my videos on youtube and a very close reality for me as a person, and that is call “immigration” something very familiar to me, to our grandparents and probably to anyone in some level in our globalized world .When I first came to this country i didn’t really had any idea about what I was putting myself into it, I think that´s why immigration is something more usual for the young, because youth is what you need to go through all the situations that only a foreigner can go through.

If you come from a third world country like me, you can actually double the challengers that you may find on your path, mostly caused because of the same issue that brought us the second war, or all the wars for the matter, it’s called “Fear of what’s different”

For the same reasons men fight against people from different races, different sexual preferences and religions, the same happen to foreigners. Normally what people can’t understand they label, labels are the way our society found to differ people from each other.

So, in the same way there no all Japanese good in math, R&B is not only enjoyable from black people and gay parents can raise straight kids, I don’t like samba, be on the beach and surprise surprise there is white people in Brazil.

One day during one of my English classes in 2001 my teacher asked how much high fashion it will cost in our countries and how people dress over there, everybody said their part until comes the turn of the Brazilians one in the class, so my classmate from North of Brazil decided to tell that in Brazil there is not such of thing of high fashion because everybody just walk around with shorts and sandals! I choke and didn´t work I tell everybody that wasn’t true; after all it was someone from my own country who said that!

What they didn’t know is that guy used to live far away from the major city in North of Brazil, in a very rural style small village close to the beach and never travel in his own country, coming straight away from his village to one of most cosmopolitan cities in the world, he was a boy that grew up practically without television and modern commodities and thought that his entire country was the same.

What I mean is, the way you perceive the world it will depends of your own world, to try to understand the new we always try to associate with something that we already know and when this does not happen is when we got scare and scared people tend to be very scary.

Stereotypes is something created from the public imagination but is also feed from the cinema and television, have you notice that American shows tend to glamorise their lives? Full of air bag blondes and hunk guys, Britain is perceived from movies like Notting Hill and four wedding and one funeral, but countries like mine are only show in the media when something terrible happen over there, there is not much interest in show the good bits, even our filmmakers realised that and only our most violent movies has a chance to a Oscar nomination, making myself answer stupid questions like: “ What you do to protect yourself to get shot on the streets?” “Can you go walking from your city Sao Paulo to Amazon?”

So for my surprise since I start to travel around the globe I realised that the Americans girls are not all Barbie Dolls, maybe the ones in Beverly Hills, but in the rest of the country the greasy fat food took over the waists and minds of the youth, in England nobody drink the five o’clock tea anymore, and that beautiful British accent full of high educated manners of lords and dukes from the movies are something that you may only see if you are from the royal family, because on the streets and in the real life what you see is a increase of a generation of people that practically did not went to school ,speak dreadfully their own language and rely their survival from the government money.

Is funny how even after what Hitler did years ago, still kind of easy to manipulate the masses in the world just using the power of suggestion and the media, with the right direction your favourite tv show can make you desire the Farah Fawcett hair but also can make you want your Mexican neighbourhood dead! Is not enough live in a Globalized world, we need globalized our minds too!

THE EASIEST WAY TO HELL IS THROUGH HEAVEN

MY BACKGROUND
Im really sorry if you are a devoted Christian ,but I need to tell ,Christianity is one of the worse things even happen to the human race ,the believe o a external power became the greatest excuse for men not to deal rationally with whatever happen that was different than their narrow knowledge about what is right. But like everything in the world the problem is not the religion but those you practise it.
Coming from a Christian country I grew up with two major influences, the church and a very popular religion in Brazil called Umbanda and Candomble, originally from Africa and brought there through the slaves in the Portuguese exploration and kept alive through generations hidden from the society catholic eye and openly practised after the abolition of slavery in Brazil.
Both religion has completely different approach about what is right or wrong, as the Christian believes your soul belongs to the body and after you die you only come back in the judgment day blab bla bla, the other one believes that after death you back on earth in a different body and in different circumstances in a way to learn and become a more in lighted spirit .
I kind of took bits and pieces of both trying in my head build a belief on something, because none of the two options was according with my views of what is right, and my many paranormal experiences forced my to believe that is something out there but my six sense was telling me that religion was not the right foot to understand spirituality and the reason of our existence.
NEW COUNTRY NEW BELIEVES THE SAME OLD STORY
Since in came to live abroad I had another chance to check upon different believes and religions and I got very interested in one, the Buddhism, at least was the closest I got from all my own believes in just one religion, especially because instead of you be praying for a external force comes and interfere in your life, you actually praying to give you the strength to do it yourself.
They believe in the most basic natural principle that for some reason humanity tend to go against: action = reaction, that all our decisions promote reactions that it will be back to us.
But exactly like in the catholic church where people decided taken their own interpretation of the bible and follow some parts and forgot others in accordance of their own interests, so the same happen there ,and I start to notice that my Buddhists friends were not exactly following what the were so fervidly about it ,I started to got judged for not praying enough and every single thing on my life that wasn’t going right was because of my lack of prayer and time of my weekends not working for free in their weddings or communities services ( sorry if i need to do this i will go and help sick children or teach in poor communities ,if you need a waiter pay one )

So now my life wasn’t anymore dominated by the devil´s temptations, but The Karma! The funny thing was that I kept watching in front of me couples betraying each other ,friends taking advantage of situations using each other faith and people that were extremely selfish and not to mention a bit evil felling all heavenly and looking at me with arrogance just because they took long hours praying and were doing long free hours for the Buddhist community .
In another words they became exactly what made me run from the catholic church :
the hate for everything that not goes in accordance of their believes, the prejudice of anything different than them, the arrogance of think they are better than everybody else, the stupidly of believe without questioning, the cruelty of making others suffer in order to establish their believes and the last and very personal to me that is lie ,the ability of be hypocrite.

WHAT I LEARNED FROM ALL THIS
In my understanding religion is just a organisation that uses people minds and weakness to take control of a population own believes and brain wash them to believe in just one single rule and discriminate anything or anyone that thinks differently, but unfortunately that will always be set to fail ,the human being wasn’t created to be restrained ,not even Hittler could stop humanity to grow as they intend to be.
So if you don’t like blacks ,gays ,jews or the idea that maybe you should show some love for what you can see and interact instead of this hateful invisible god ,then bad for you because I don’t care about what gonna happen to me after I die and I don’t do good expecting rewards in the afterlife ,I do it because I care, and like a old gay slogan form the 70´s used to say (and apply to all minorities ) “We´re here ,we´re queer get used “
Steve Cavalcanti
Ps: Is understanding that all religions are beautiful and could be appreciated without human degradation, pain or suffering after all was not god who creates free will ? so we should respect that too !
so now watch this video relax and have a laugh :)

WHEN KEN GOT OUT OF THE CLOSET

I first wanted to start this newblog talking about subjects that made me interested some for the sense of humor ,polemic aspects or just to let my message across ,for each subject I will do my research in order to bring not only my opinion but the most different aspects of the subject ,so you also can have a opinion on your own !
Today I was navigating in internet when I found a interesting image of a gay doll made on image of the homo erotic characters from Tom of Finland, when occurs me to investigate a bit about dolls for gays and why we should blame Barbie for this .(LOL)
BOB - THE WORLD FIRST GAY DOLL

First launched back in 1977 by Harvey Rosenberg ,gay bob was the first gay doll ever created. Bob was 13 inches tall, had blond hair ,a pierced ear and wore a flannel shirt, tight jeans and cowboy boots. Gay Bob was anatomically correct and was created as cross between Robert Redford and Paul Newman.
Bob’s box was shaped like a closet and it came with a catalog from where you could order additional clothing for your gay doll. It created quite a lot of controversy in a time when homosexuality was not as “popular” as it is today .

CHARLIE - THE OUTRAGEOUS GAY DOLL

he handmade doll created by the New York-based Brazilian sculptor Fernando Carpaneda was inspired by both gay icons and most notorious homophobes in contemporary history.
The doll's body was based on the Russian writer and artist Slava Mogutin and was chosen by Carpaneda in "honor" of president Vladimir Putin who banned the recent Gay Pride Parade in Moscow.
The doll's face was inspired by Edino Fonseca, a notoriously homophobic Brazilian priest and politician who proposed using taxpayers' money to establish clinics to cure gay people from their homosexuality. The name Charlie is a tribute to the president of The Leslie Lohman Gay Art Foundation, Charles Leslie.
The doll is featured in four models: Skinhead Charlie, Priest Charlie, Arab Charlie and Jewish Charlie. Priest Charlie is dressed in a Gothic priest's robe, like the one used by Marcelo Rossi, a Brazilian Catholic icon. Arab & Jewish Charlie are made in tribute to the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the mass murderer of gay people in his country.
The doll is also dedicated to the Pope, one of the most homophobic religious leaders in history. Charlie the Gay Doll comes with two penis options: uncircumcised flaccid or erect. The doll's penis was based on the artist's own. These are unique sculptures signed by the artist. Charlie is 12 inches tall with tattoos and is being sold at The Leslie/Lohman Gay Art Foundation for $300 dollars (USD).

THE SEXUAL TRUE BEHIND THE INNOCENT DOLL
And for those who think that a gay doll is a perversion from the innocent toy named Barbie here is the true, the man who designed Barbie and Ken was a kinky swinger with ‘a manic need for sexual gratification,’ according to an explosive new book.

Jack Ryan, whose wives included Hollywood actress Zsa Zsa Gabor, surrounded himself with busty ‘Barbie’ clones and threw wild orgies at his luxurious Bel-Air, California mansion.
Ryan, who died in 1991 aged 65, designed toys like Barbie and Ken, Hot Wheels and the Chatty Cathy talking doll during his years as a top executive for Mattel.

But author Jerry Openheimer claims Ryan had a seamy side that sullies the carefully protected image of his best-known creation.

In ‘Toy Monster: The Big, Bad World of Mattel’, Oppenheimer says that Yale University-educated Ryan was a ‘full blown seventies-style swinger’ who patronised ‘high class call girls to streetwalkers’ in his quest for excitement.
Five times married Ryan also indulged in wife-swapping, claims the book.

Even more disturbingly, Ryan’s kinky motivations played a part in his design of the world’s favourite doll.
‘When Jack talked about creating Barbie it was like listening to somebody talk about a sexual episode, almost like listening to a sexual pervert,’ Ryan’s friend, Stephen Gnass told the author.
Gwen Florea, who was the voice of Barbie in a line of talking dolls, said: ‘He once said to me he loved me being so tall so he could stick his nose in my boobs when he hugged me.'

Barbie - who is now more than 50 years old - and Ken were named after the children of Mattel founders Ruth and Elliot Handler.

Dark secret: Ken, seen here with Barbie, was reportedly based on a gay man who endured a lifetime of taunts for having the doll named after him But Oppenheimer said
the real life Ken was a closeted gay man who was diagnosed with AIDS before
his death in 1994 in New York’s Greenwich Village.

Oppenheimer said Ken Handler ‘grew up embarrassed and humiliated by having an anatomically incorrect boy doll named after him with no hint of genitalia.’

He was married with three children, but the book claims: ‘To all those who knew him, Ken Handler was a wonderful father, a loving husband – but there was another side to Ken.
And in 1990 he was formally diagnosed with AIDS.'His parents and wife were shocked.’
